Long Gun Safety

Carts - you may place your long guns into the cart in the parking area only if the gun has a chamber
safety indicator in place when the gun is taken out of the case, put it in before you leave home,
before going into the cart. Once the gun goes into the cart you may only remove it at a designated
safety area if you need to handle it. At the bay you are shooting your stage you may only remove the
gun from the cart with the barrel facing the side berm to preload or place onto the staging table.
Chamber safety indicator stays in place until you are making ready under the direction of the RO.

Cases - if you are not using a cart all long guns must be cased when carried from one location to the other.
The barrel must face the side berm when the gun is uncased to place on the preload or staging table.
If you need to handle the long gun for any reason other than preloading or being called to the line
to shoot it must be cased and carried to a designated safety area.

The muzzle of your long gun should always be pointed at the side berm, cased or not,
until you are called to the line.
